Q: How do I know I'm getting a good unit?
A: SkyRun provides very detailed photos, maps, room inventory, information and guest book comments about the actual unit you will be renting. Rent from others, and you may get the next condo on the list. Want to make sure you’re getting a good unit, see it online with complete photos AND COMPLETE 360 degree VIRTUAL TOURS of most units.
Q: What’s included?
A: Our condos come fully furnished with everything from a Microwave, 2 or more TV’s, a VCR, a DVD player, linens and towels, dishes, pots and pans (right down to the corkscrew) and hair dryers. We sweat the details and start you out with supplies like shampoo, conditioner, Kleenex, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, soaps, trash bags, etc. We provide everything you expect from a fine hotel.
Our TV's are on the resort cable system and have over 50 channels including HBO and Disney Channel. Local and 1-800 number calls are free and there is free high speed internet (wired and wireless) in MOST units. Condos and Town homes also come with free parking for one vehicle close to your condo and free parking for additional vehicles in other lots within the resort. Homes have parking for 2 in a garage, and parking for up to two more vehicles in the driveway. Most units also include a ski locker (usually on the ground floor) so you don't need to take up condo space with all your heavy, bulky and wet skis, boards etc. Many SkyRun units also contain upgrades like Video Games, home theaters, CD stereos, etc. One unit even has a full electronic keyboard! See individual listings for the upgrades that are included.
Q: Am I going to get a good deal?
A: Our rates are generally 10% lower than the web price for a similar unit available from others. In addition, we also give you locals-only tips on where to get a great deal on lift tickets and rentals. We also offer you a SkyRun Discount Card that gets 5-30% off at local restaurants and merchants. SkyRun can help plan your whole trip, not just rent you the condo.
Q: What is travel insurance for?
A: SkyRun condos (and all condos in the resort) are typically non-refundable for any reason including death in the family, injury, or simply the inability to get here due to closed roads or airports. Travel insurance insures you against anything other than simply a change of mind and will provide you a refund for travel delays, needing to leave early, or not being able to get here at all. If you buy travel insurance with your condo, the amount of the condo can be claimed from the insurance company! There are many 3rd party travel insurers, but SkyRun uses AIG for that name-brand service and support that our clients expect.
For 7.5% extra, a travel insurance policy from AIG Travel Guard will protect your entire partys' vacation investment if you are forced to cancel, interrupt, or delay your trip due to weather, illnes, injury, or any other covered reason. This policy also includes very important baggage and medical protection.
For more information Click here for overview or Click here for FAQ's . To make a claim, or if you have additional questions, or to request a detailed description of coverage, call AIG Travel Guard directly at 1-866-221-8080 and refer to product number 007861.
Q: How do I rent a unit? What are the deposit and payment terms?
A: You can rent any of our condos by booking directly on this website using a credit card (or you can mail us a check if your arrival is 40 days or more in the future), or you can call us at 1-877-SkyRun-1 if you would like to speak with us and book with a reservations agent.
When you book, 1/3 of your rent ($300 minimum) is charged as a non-refundable deposit when you book your unit because you are holding a specific room that other people will be unable to book after you hold it. 30 days before your arrival, the remainder of your rent is due and becomes non-refundable if you need to cancel for any reason (see travel insurance above for exceptions!). We will charge the credit card we have on file automatically for your remainder.
You have 24 hours after booking to cancel without penalty. Then you have 7 days to make changes you need to make to your booking without fee (as long as the new total amount is more than 50% of the total booking rate after the change). If it is more than 7 days after making your reservation and you need to change the property your have rented (even if it's an upgrade), or you need to reduce the number of nights you are booking, there will be a $100 change fee assessed for each change to your booking.
Q: How do I check in?
A: SkyRun has a full-service check-in center in the middle of Keystone Resort. We are located at 22869 Highway 6 in the Mountain View Plaza which is right in the center of the Resort and no more than 5 minutes to your Condo or Home. You can pick up both your keys, and your skis from adjacent Mountain View Sports. We also stock 500 DVD titles for you to rent for $5 for the length of you stay with FULL EXCHANGE privileges at any time during your stay at no extra charge. And you don’t have to take them back, just leave them in your room when you leave.
If you will be arriving late (7pm in the winter, 5pm in the summer), we have a lockbox outside of our door. The combination for the lockbox is in your confirmation letter or call us if you will be late and we'll provide it.
Q: How many people can stay in a unit?
A: Each unit will generally sleep 2 in each bedroom and 2 on a sleeper-sofa in the living room. Many units also have extra beds (trudle, extra double beds, murphy beds, etc). Check each unit for details.
Q: What are the rules?
A: No smoking and no pets are allowed in any of our units, including on the balconies. No house parties where more than the number of people the condo sleeps are in the condo at any time. This is STRICTLY ENFORCED. Quiet time starts at 10:00pm (resort rule).
Q: How is renting from SkyRun different from renting from Vail Associates/The Resort?
A: One main difference is the cost. We try to be about 10% less than renting the same unit directly from the resort on their web site.
Other differences are:
- We don't make money on your phone calls. Our phone is hooked directly to the phone company, not the resort switchboard. This means that you don't pay for local and 1-800 calls. Long distance is through your credit card or collect. By contrast, every local or 1-800 number call from a resort unit costs you $.75. Long distance is $4.71 for the first MINUTE for long distance and $.86 PER MINUTE after that!
- We don't do daily maid service during your visit, however we do offer you extra cleanings (up to daily cleanings) for a fee. Our units do include cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaners if you feel the need to tidy up. All buildings have laundry facilities and several units include washers and dryers in the units.
- You don't check in at the resort check-in, you check in at our SkyRun check-in center, which also includes facilities next door at Mountain View Sports to pick up your skis that you can reserve with us (and get a discount!) So you can pick up your SKIS AND KEYS at the same time.
- We also include extras in most rooms (Wireless Internet, DVD players, Home Theaters, Game Consoles). Check the individual rooms for details on what’s in the room you’re renting.
Q: How is renting from SkyRun different from renting directly from the Owner of the Condo?
A: All of the condos and homes that SkyRun represents are owned by private investors. SkyRun manages the properties as a local contact for the guests of the owners of the condos. What that means for you is that you have one point of contact that you can trust with your credit card information, and trust to be there for you if and when you need us. Our Guest Registration center is in the heart of the resort, providing you the service so that you know your vacation will be the best it can be.
We believe that SkyRun offers the best of all worlds. Full Service like renting from the Resort, while offering lower prices and access to locals-only discounts like renting directly from the owner.
Q: Is SkyRun related to Keystone Resort or Vail Resorts, Inc.?
A: SkyRun is one of many property management firms that operate in or near Keystone Resort. SkyRun LLC is not affiliated with Keystone or Vail Resorts Inc. that operate the ski mountain, but we work closely together to make sure our mutual guests are happy and come back year after year.
Q: What is SkyRun?
A: SkyRun has been in business for 5 years in Keystone Resort and represents the owners of about 100 condos and homes in the Keystone area. SkyRun also has properties in many other resorts that you can see on www.SkyRun.com but Keystone is our original site and the location of our global headquarters. The owners of SkyRun own condos ourselves and experience the Resort as guests with our families. We try to pass our love of Keystone Resort and the Rocky Mountains (Winter and Summer!) to our guests. Our simple strategy is to offer the best value to our guests. We do this by keeping our costs low by focusing on repeat business. Simply, we make sure every guest has a great experience, gets lots of good deals on food and equipment and activities while here, and then returns every year and tells their friends!
